For all IIMs, the minimum eligibility criterion for admission to PGP is at least a three-year bachelors degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/ AICTE as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management.
IIM Ahmedabad: PGP (Agri-Business Management) (PGP-ABM) Either (1) A Bachelors degree in agriculture or allied subjects such as agricultural engineering, animal husbandry, dairy science/technology, fisheries, forestry, food technology, horticulture, veterinary sciences or botany or zoology; biotechnology as related life sciences, OR (2) A Masters degree in any discipline of agriculture, economics with specialization in agriculture economics, co-operation, food technology, rural studies, rural sociology, OR (3) At least a three year bachelor degree in any discipline with at least one year of managerial/technical work experience after graduation in fields closely related to agriculture, agro/food processing or rural development. IIM Calcutta: Candidates can apply to more than one of the Post Graduate Programmes viz, PGDM, PGDCM and PGDBM. For PGP-Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management (PGDCM), a candidate is required to send a crossed demand draft payable in Kolkata for Rs 500/- in favour of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta along with a self-addressed sticker giving name and address of the applicant, between October 10 and November 10, 2001. PGDCM application form and sample items of Aptitude Tests in Management (ATM) would be sent to the applicant on receipt of the demand draft. Last date for receipt of the filled-in PGDCM Application Form is December 7, 2001. ATM will be held for shortlisted candidates prior to group discussion and personal interview. PGP-Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) is a three-year evening programme. For this programme, an applicant must have a (i) a minimum of two years work experience (by May 31, 2002) at an Executive/Supervisory level after graduation and (ii) must be employed in a full time job at the time of admission. Note (For all IIMs): Candidates appearing for final examinations for the Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent examination) can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, provided they complete all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, 2002. In addition, they must produce evidence of having satisfied the minimum eligibility requirements by December 31, 2002.
It is the endeavour of the IIMs that no student be denied an opportunity to pursue the Post-Graduate Programmes in Management and Fellow Programme in Management for want of adequate financial resources. Substantial need-based scholarship schemes covering even upto 100% of expenses are available. (Please see the write-up on each IIM included in the CAT bulletin for details). |
As per Government of India requirements, 15% and 7 ½ % seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates. As per the provision of Persons With Disabilities Act, 1995, 3% seats are reserved for persons with disabilities.
