Team Census, an Initiative of students of IIM Calcutta, is the result of the quest for a complete experiential marketing expo at IIM Calcutta. Originally a marketing research club (formed in 2006), we had expanded our horizon to become a club that provides a complete marketing experience to the students of IIMC, in the year 2007. We now have two offerings from our stable - Ulhaas and Mandi. Ulhaas, the flagship event of Team Census, is a Disguised Marketing Research event and Mandi, is in-campus S&M event. Team Census is run by a dedicated team of students at IIM Calcutta.

Ulhaas - the marketing research fair

Ulhaas, designed in a 'disguised games' format, aims at bridging the gap between the producer and the consumer through systematic research. Held over a period of about three months, Ulhaas culminates in a fun fair where the respondents are led thorough a series of interactive games, designed to provide stimuli to elicit responses from consumers.


The entire research process is guided by the overriding principle that no game must reduce to a typical questionnaire mode market research exercise. The fair has always been held at a central location in the city, thus ensuring a huge footfall - in each of the previous editions, 10000 people visited the fair.

Mandi

Mandi is a Team Census initiative to complete and implement the understanding of Sales and Marketing. The event tests the Marketing, Selling and Strategic skills of the participants over a period of 8-10 days. Mandi as an event is designed to provide its participants with a complete Brand Building Experience, in that the participants choose the products, Promote it by making Video and Print Ads, Price it and finally sell their products in a fair organized by Team Census. Mandi focuses on the execution part of the theories that have been imparted to our fellow students. In its inaugural edition, over 100 IIMCians participated in the event.
