By my formal education, I am an engineer. During my doctoral research work, I developed keen interest in the interdisciplinary area of science and technology studies. On completion of my Ph.D. work, I changed the direction of my professional activities. In this process I started to understand the relation between science and environmental movements in India, like the forest conservation movement in the Himalaya called 'Chipko Andolan'. In due course of time and over the past decades, I got the opportunity to work on several important topics in this subject at both global and local levels.
