IIM Calcutta and SCOPE business tour to expose CEOs to learn tricks of trade

Top brass of 20 public sector undertakings (PSUs) are likely to undertake a three-week study tour to Europe where they will interact with experts and management academicians about the best global practices to run their corporate more efficiently.
The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (Scope) is organising the programme in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C). The programme is titled Advance Global Leadership.
About 20 PSUs including NTPC, BHEL, ONGC and HAL have confirmed their participation in the programme, Scope Director General UD Choubey said.
The three-week programme would be held in two phases. While Phase-I of the programme would be held at IIM-C and Scope Convention Centre here for a week, the second phase will comprise of a study tour programme tour to European countries – including Germany, Paris and Geneva.
During the three-week course, PSU executives would interact with expert researchers and management academicians and deliberate about the best practices adopted globally to make the corporate truly world class, Choubey said.
The top CEOs will also be guided how to do business in foreign markets, develop strategies for international expansion and to remain globally competitive while adhereing to highest standards of corporate governance.
As more and more PSUs are looking to venture abroad, Scope wants the top management to be fully equipped and adaptable to requirements of global markets.
