However, an applicant who has already earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Management (PGDCM) from one of the IIMs with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 6.00/9.00 (or equivalent), or a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) from IIM Calcutta with CGPA 6.5/9.00 and above need not take CAT or any of the other tests and can apply directly using the application form.
Candidates, who satisfy the eligibility criteria stated above, and need to take CAT or other test(s), will be short-listed on the basis of their performance in the test(s). Short-listed candidates (including those who are not required to take any test) will be called for personal interview at the IIM Calcutta campus during March/April 2010. They will be reimbursed AC III tier return train fare by the shortest route. Classes commence in June 2010.
NRI/Foreign applicants (with or without an MBA) may be exempted from the CAT. But the applicant will have to prove that he/ she is residing abroad or has lived abroad. Besides the completed application form, they must furnish:
GMAT scores (obtained not earlier than three years from the year of application for applicants without an MBA, and not earlier than five years from the year of application for applicants with an MBA)
Three letters of recommendation
A write-up on their research interest (in a suitably designed format)
Transcripts from the institution last attended.
The FPR Committee will review on a case-by-case basis whether to short-list the candidate or not.
