Rohit Chadda becomes CEO-Digital Publishing, ZEE Group

Zee Group has appointed IIMC alumnus Rohit Chadda as CEO-Digital Publishing. Chadda will report to Amit Goenka – CEO, International Broadcast Business.News digital content team, product team and technology team will directly report to Chadda. As part of his new role, Chadda will build innovative solutions in digital advertising and publisher monetisation space. He will also be responsible for building distribution infrastructure and creating overarching digital marketing and syndication programmes. An investment banker-turned entrepreneur, Chadda is a co-founder of food-ordering platform ‘foodpanda.com’. He also launched ‘PayLo’ - a payments solution provider - in 2015. Over the past two years, Chadda has led product and strategy for Zee Group globally.

Best-selling author, Amish Tripathi at Express Adda

Recently named director of the Nehru Centre in London, Amish Tripathi was the guest at the Express Adda in New Delhi. The Express Adda is a series of informal interactions organised by The Indian Express Group and features those at the centre of change. Pine Labs acquired gift-card company Qwikcilver

Point-of-sales service provider Pine Labs acquired gift-card company Qwikcilver recently. The latter was founded by IIMC alumnus, T P Pratap along with Kumar Sudarsan 13 years ago, when startups were yet to be recognised as a significant part of the economy. During the journey, the venture faced several crests and troughs. A major trough came in 2012 when their third founder had to leave for health reasons, and they almost shut down the venture. But two years later, they saw a huge crest when Amazon decided to fund them.

Launch of Dr. T.N.Swaminathan's book

IIMC's 8th batch alumnus Dr. T.N.Swaminathan authored a new book titled “Digital Marketing: From Fundamentals to Future”. The book was launched in June and released by Dr. Santhosh Babu, Principal Secretary to Govt. of Tamil Nadu. The book filled with insights and packed with data and infographics was published by the prestigious publisher Cengage. The Chennai alumni turned up in huge numbers to recognise and celebrate Swaminathan’s work.

Love Heals Cancer by Dimple Parmar

On March 14, 2018, cancer took Nitesh away from Dimple. Along with her mother Indira Parmar's help, in June, she decided that she would dedicate the rest of her life to complete her husband’s dream. Through Love Heals Cancer, she aims to provide support, information, and services to help people in their journey against cancer. Their primary goal is to help cancer patients, their family members, friends, loved ones, and everyone else find unbiased information about healing options in conventional and integrative therapies. They also look at the psychological and spiritual aspects of cancer, and advocate communities of people with similar experiences to share and support each other. Love Heals Cancer is a community of patients, caregivers, survivors, volunteers, individuals, and organisations, dedicated to providing love and support to cancer patients around the world. Partnering with US-based cancer-care programmes at Beyond Conventional Cancer Therapies, Love Heals Cancer provide services like holistic healing, healing circles, LHC Help Programme, end-of-life conversation and mind-body medicine education to patients and caregivers across India.
