Corporate Affairs Minister Veerappa Moily has released a study “State of Corporate Governance in India- Policies to Reality” to help improve corporate governance within industry.
It has been developed by the ministry’s Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs in collaboration with a Delhi based think tank Thought Arbitrage Research Institute and IIM, Calcutta. It seeks to cover four aspects of governance in India using quantitative and empirical research techniques.
Speaking on the occasion Moily said the concept of corporate governance is still nascent in India where norms require a constant state of refinement to build a balance between voluntary and mandatory approaches.
In an uncertain global scenario, he said it also becomes pivotal to have a robust legal and compliance framework.
