I. Post: Manager (on contract)

Department: International Office

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management of MoUs and Mou related activities related to faculty and student-exchanges with partner schools aboard.
  • Coordination with partner-schools and Institute faculty members on faculty exchange programmes with partner schools.
  • Managing student-exchange programmes with partner schools. This includes managing the selection process, student allocation to partner schools, student nomination process with partner schools, helping students with scholarship applications, course approvals for outgoing exchange students, conduct of exams for students who return before examination week at partner schools and ensuring that grades are received in time for Convocation.
  • Managing all incoming exchange students. This includes receiving nominations, coordinating with Post-Graduate and Fellow Programme offices for Course Registration, sending all Visa documentation to incoming students, managing course registration for incoming students, ensuring FRRO (foreigner registration office) requirements are met, reviewing learning agreements of incoming students with their home institutions, and ensuring that grade sheets are sent to and received from partner schools within stipulated deadlines.
  • Managing the Institute’s Double-Degree Programmes, including managing the selection process in coordination with academic offices, helping students with scholarship applications, helping incoming students with Visa documentation, ensuring FRRO (foreigner registration office) requirements are met, and ensuring receipt of grades in time for Convocation.
  • Any other international exchange related activities as may be decided by the Institute.
  • The Manager for International Office will report to one of the Deans of the Institute.

Academic Qualification:

  • Post Graduate degree in any discipline from a reputed university / academic institution. Additional qualification desirable: MBA

Experience:

  • Work experience of 5-10 years preferably in educational institutions. Candidates with experience in handling faculty and student exchanges with foreign educational institutions would be preferred.
  • Experience in dealing with International organizations would be an added advantage.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skill in English is a must.
  • Proficiency in Office management software.
  • Should have an outgoing and positive personality, with a penchant for thinking out of the box and finding innovative solutions.
  • Should have good inter-personal skills and be able to handle tasks and projects independently.

Emoluments:

Around Rs.40,000/- per month and other benefits including medical reimbursement, mediclaim insurance etc. as per the Institute’s policy. The salary will be revised annually based on performance.

Tenure:

This is a contractual position for an initial period of 03(Three) years and is renewable on the basis of performance and Institute’s requirement.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. Applicants working in Govt./Semi Govt./Public Sector Undertaking will be required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of Interview. Candidates on selection are required to submit relieving letter from their employer (Govt./Public sector/Private) at the time of joining the Institute, without which they will not be allowed to join.
  2. Application forms should be supported by self attested photograph and documents in respect of qualification, experience etc., of the candidates.
  3. The prescribed qualification is the minimum and mere fulfilling the minimum essential qualification will not entitle an applicant to be called for test/interview.
  4. Competent authority may relax the age and experience in deserving cases.
  5. Any subsequent amendments/modifications etc., if any, will be notified in the Institute’s website (www.iimcal.ac.in) and may be referred by the interested candidates.
  6. Application fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred) only should be submitted in the form of demand draft in favour of “Indian Institute of Management Calcutta” payable at Kolkata. SC/ST/Female candidates will not be required to submit the application fee.
  7. No interim queries will be entertained.
  8. The authority reserves the right to reject/accept any/all candidature without assigning any reason.
  9. Candidates shortlisted for personal interview would be paid to and fro AC II tier train fare as travelling allowance.
