Dr Gita V. Johar is an internationally reputed academic with numerous publications in prestigious journals. She has been on the faculty of Columbia Business School (CBS) since 1992 and has held several leadership positions at the school. She is currently the Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Meyer Feldberg Professor of Business. Her research expertise is in consumer psychology, focusing on how consumers react to marketing efforts such as advertising, promotions and sponsorship. She has served as the editor of the premier academic journal, the Journal of Consumer Research and currently serves as associate editor of the Journal of Marketing and is co-editing a special issue of the journal on “Better Marketing for a Better World.”
