Call for Assistant Finance and Accounts Officer (Regular) at IIM Calcutta

IIMC invites applications for the below mentioned position:

  5. Job Responsibilities:

    1. Handling the entire process of Payroll-salary and allowances.
    2. Managing receipts and payments.
    3. Responsible for work related to Statutory Tax collections and deductions.
    4. Managing pension disbursement and retirement benefits.
    5. Maintaining bank accounts.
    6. Maintaining bank and cash reconciliations.
    7. Responsible for investment accounting.
    8. Supervision of reimbursement of personal claims.
    9. Supervising and managing bank transfers/daily cheques drawn.
    10. Coordinating and managing CAG Audit.
    11. Supervision of accounting works related to Civil and Electrical Engineering wing.
    12. Handling budget, Tax assessment and planning.
    13. Responsible for e-Filing of returns and assisting audits.
    14. Managing all invoicing matters related to vendor and other third party payments.
    15. Preparation of balance sheets and annual reports.
    16. Responsible for submission of periodical reports and returns.
    17. Managing the documentation of all transactions.
    18. Any other relevant jobs as assigned by the Competent Authority from time to time.
  6. Academic Qualification:


    1. Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with at least 55% marks from a recognized University/ Institute.


    1. Chartered Accountant/ Cost & Management Accountant /MBA (Finance)/ M. Com. from a recognized University/ Institute.
    2. Qualified in Subordinate Audit/Accounts Service (SAS) Examination.
  7. Experience:


    Minimum 10 (Ten) years of relevant experience covering various areas related to Finance and Accounts, including Final Accounts, Budgetary Control, taxation etc.


    1. Candidates having experience in Computerized Finance and Accounting Systems will be given preference.
    2. Knowledge of Tally software.
    3. Conversant with CPWD rules regarding accounting works related to Civil and Electrical Engineering accounts.
    4. Conversant with Government Pay and Pension rules.
  8. Age:

    Preferably below 35 (Thirty Five) years as on last date of application.

  9. Pay Matrix and Level:

    In the Pay Level-10 (Rs.56100-177500) of Pay Matrix (Pre-Revised PB-3: GP-5400) plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC etc. as per rules of the Institute. Total minimum emoluments as on date would be Rs.1,07565/- (Rupees One Lakh Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Sixty Five) approx. per month with other admissible allowances and benefits as per Institute’s rules.

  10. Other Benefits:

    Medical expenses on domiciliary treatment (OPD - Out Patient Department) for self & dependent family members within the Institute’s ceiling limit of Rs.27,000/- (Rupees twenty seven thousand only) per annum and yearly Mediclaim Insurance coverage for self & dependent family members up to Rs.4 Lakhs (Rupees four lakhs only) for hospitalization treatment. These limits are subject to revisions from time to time. Other applicable benefits like mobile reimbursement etc. will be as per the Institute’s rules.

  11. Probation:

    Shall be for 02 (Two) years


    1. Applicants working in Govt./Semi Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies should apply through proper channel. Candidates should submit a certificate from the employer/competent authority that no vigilance/disciplinary case is either pending or contemplated against him/her.
    2. Application forms should be supported by self-attested photograph and documents in respect of qualification, experience etc. of the candidates.
    3. Age relaxation for SC/ST and OBCs is applicable as per Government of India norms.
    4. The candidates should superscribe the position applied for at the top of the envelopes containing the application form.
    5. The prescribed essential qualifications/experience indicated above is bare minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidates to be called for test/ interview. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience.
    6. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University/Institute.
    7. Competent authority may relax the age and experience in deserving cases.
    8. Subsequent amendments/modifications etc., if any, will be notified on the Institute’s website ( and may be referred by the interested candidates.
    9. Application fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred) only should be submitted in the form of Demand Draft in favour of “Indian Institute of Management Calcutta” payable at Kolkata. For Online Bank Transfer, Bank Details may be found as attached. SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates will not be required to submit the application fee.
    10. Only the selected candidate(s) in respect of the previously mentioned post (if any) will be intimated accordingly. No interim queries will be entertained.
    11. The authority reserves the right to reject/accept any/all candidature without assigning any reason.
    12. Out stationed candidates shortlisted for personal interview would be reimbursed to and fro AC II tier train fare as travelling allowance on submission of bills.
    13. Incomplete applications or applications without self-attested copies of certificates/ testimonials or received after the last date are liable to be rejected.
    14. Canvassing in any form will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.
    15. The Institute reserves the right not to fill up the post advertised, without assigning any reason.
    16. In case of any dispute the decision of the Institute will be final.
