Event Overview

IIM Calcutta is delighted to host the 7th edition of the Chicago Booth India Quantitative Marketing Conference on December 14-15, 2025, at its scenic Joka campus in Kolkata. This annual invite-only conference, jointly organized with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, serves as a premier forum for scholars, doctoral students, and practitioners in the field of quantitative marketing to exchange ideas, present research, and foster collaborations.

Since its inception in 2017, the conference has grown into a premier academic forum for quantitative marketing research in India. Conceived by Professors Pradeep Chintagunta and Sanjog Misra of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the conference has been held at leading institutions including the University of Chicago Delhi Centre, IIM Bangalore, ISB Hyderabad, IIM Udaipur, SPJIMR Mumbai, and ISB Mohali. Each edition has brought together an eclectic mix of faculty, doctoral scholars, and researchers from across India and abroad, fostering rigorous scholarship, vibrant debate, and cross-border collaborations.

At its core, the conference aims to advance methodologically rigorous and contextually relevant marketing research, while building bridges between established academics, early-career researchers, and doctoral students. Presentations typically cover a wide range of themes and receive detailed feedback from peers as well as Professors Chintagunta and Misra themselves, who continue to guide and coordinate the series. The 2025 Call for Papers is now open, with submissions due by October 15, 2025. Faculty and doctoral students are invited to submit completed papers or extended abstracts that outline the research question, data, methodology, and insights. Selected papers will be invited for presentation at the conference, offering presenters a valuable opportunity for constructive engagement.

Alongside the academic sessions, the IIM Calcutta edition will feature a pre-conference dinner on December 14, opportunities to interact with peers, and curated on-campus experiences that capture the unique energy of IIMC. By combining intellectual rigor with collegial exchange, the conference continues its tradition of nurturing world-class marketing research that resonates both locally and globally.

Over the years, the conference has welcomed participants from top business schools across India as well as the globe, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, ISB, SPJIMR, University of Sussex Business School, UT Dallas, and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, among others. The range of research topics has been diverse including topics such as optimizing video advertising, studying consumer behavior during astrological events, understanding charitable giving during natural disasters, the role of influencers in shaping subscription services, and many other relevant marketing-relevant phenomena. Now in its 7th edition, the conference arrives at IIM Calcutta, further cementing its reputation as a much-anticipated annual gathering of the brightest minds in marketing academia, offering rigorous scholarship, vibrant discussions, and meaningful collaborations.

The quant marketing conference organized by the Booth School of Business serves as a platform to bring together researchers focusing in this domain.
