Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) invites applications from eligible and qualified Doctors for empanelment with the Institute’s Medical Unit to provide medical services on a call-basis as and when required.
Eligibility
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.
- Completion of the one-year compulsory internship.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council.
- A minimum of 3 (Three) years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Nature of Engagement
The empanelled Doctors shall be engaged on a call basis, as and when required, particularly during periods when the existing Doctors of the IIM Calcutta Medical Unit are on leave or otherwise unavailable. The empanelled Doctors shall be contacted based on the requirement of the Medical Unit, and the duty shall be assigned to the respective Doctor, subject to their availability and willingness to undertake the duty.
Duties and Responsibilities
The empanelled Doctor may be required to:
- Provide consultations and primary medical care to members of the IIM Calcutta community.
- Examine patients, assess their medical needs, recommend treatment and prescribe medicines as appropriate.
- Provide initial care in medical emergencies and arrange referral or transfer, where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Advise patients on follow-up care and preventive health.
- Coordinate with Medical Unit staff to support continuity of care.
Honorarium
An honorarium of maximum ₹800/- per hour shall be paid for the services rendered by the empanelled Doctor’s subject to a minimum engagement of 4 hours and a maximum of 8 hours per call/visit, as required by the Institute.
