Prof. Samit Paul, Coordinator (FRTL)
Samit Paul is an Associate Professor in Finance and Control Group of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC). He is a fellow of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. Before joining IIMC, he has had teaching stints at Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi and International Management Institute, Kolkata. He teaches courses like Cost Management, Strategic Cost Management, Business Valuations and Financial Risk Management at Post Graduate level and Seminar Course on Research Methods in Finance and Accounting at doctoral level. His research interests are in the area of financial risk management and investment decisions. He has authored a number of research articles in international journals of high repute such as Review of Finance, Decision Sciences, Economics Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Forecasting, Information and Management etc. He is also a certified cost accountant with seven years of industry experience in the domain of statutory reporting and microfinance. Samit is currently acting as the Coordinator of the Financial Research and Trading Laboratory (FRTL) of IIM Calcutta.
Prof. Manish Thakur, Coordinator (MCHV)
MANISH THAKUR is Professor, Public Policy and Management Group, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta. Professor Thakur is the recipient of Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao Award in Social Sciences (Sociology) (2014). He was a Fellow (2011-13) at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. He is currently the Editor of the Sociological Bulletin (Sage) and the Journal of Human Values (Sage). His latest publication is the co-edited volume Managing India ((New York: Routledge, Taylor and Francis, 2024).
Prof. Arpita Ghosh, Coordinator (CDEP)
Prof. Arpita Ghosh, Coordinator, Centre for Development and Environment Policy (CDEP), IIM Calcutta
Prof. Arpita Ghosh is a Professor in the Finance and Control Group at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. A Fellow of IIM Calcutta, she has previously served on the faculty of IIM Ahmedabad. Her teaching and research interests include corporate governance, corporate sustainability, ESG issues, accounting ethics, financial reporting, strategic cost management, enterprise risk management, and sustainability reporting. Her work examines contemporary challenges at the intersection of business, governance, accountability, and sustainable development.
Alongside her academic work, Prof. Ghosh is actively engaged in executive education and case writing and has contributed to initiatives that advance case-based learning and management education.
As Coordinator of the Centre for Development and Environment Policy (CDEP), she seeks to strengthen interdisciplinary research, dialogue, and knowledge dissemination on development, sustainability, governance, and public policy. She is committed to fostering collaboration among academia, industry, government, and civil society to further the Centre's mission of sustainable and inclusive development.
Prof. Ankit Kumar, Coordinator (CEI)
Dr. Kumar is a faculty member in the Economics Group at IIM Calcutta, specializing in Macroeconomics and Macro-Finance. His research focuses on addressing contemporary issues in Macro-Finance and, more recently, on designing and implementing agentic AI workflows to enhance and automate financial decision-making processes. He has published in reputed international journals and has undertaken consultancy projects for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He was awarded the prestigious Reserve Bank of India Scholarship in 2022 and currently serves as a Member of the Expert Committee for finalizing Research and Development Statistics for the National Science and Technology Survey 2024–25, as well as a Member of the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) of the National Science and Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS) Programme, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
