The Economics Club at IIM Calcutta is a community for students who are curious about understanding the world through the lens of economics. Guided by our motto, "Making economics simple enough for a 5-year-old to understand, yet thought-provoking enough to challenge a 25-year-old," we strive to make economic concepts accessible while encouraging deeper thinking and meaningful discussions. Whether it's analysing the Union Budget, debating public policy, understanding financial markets, or exploring current global developments, the club creates opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Through our three verticals Learning & Development, Events, and Design & PR we organize competitions, guest lectures, workshops, simulations, quizzes, and publish resources such as the Economic Survey Summary, Budget Summary, Current Affairs Compendium, and other learning material. Our events are designed to spark curiosity, encourage collaboration, and help students apply economic ideas to real-world situations. Whether you're someone who enjoys discussing macroeconomic trends, loves solving policy challenges, or is simply looking to explore economics for the first time, the Economics Club offers a platform to learn, share ideas, and grow.
