At IIM Calcutta, where much of the day is filled with numbers, cases, and deadlines, Hues is the space that keeps creativity alive. As the institute’s art and craft club, we bring colour to campus life and give everyone a chance to unwind and make something by hand.
Hues is built on a simple belief: that creativity isn’t reserved for a few, but something everyone can enjoy. The club is open to all, from those who have been sketching for years to those who haven’t picked up a brush since school. There’s no experience required and no judgment here, only the pleasure of creating something of your own.
Throughout the year, we host a range of hands-on workshops that bring people together through creativity. These include canvas painting and tote bag painting, clay modelling, bracelet making, T-shirt tie-dye, and photo frame making- each an easy, welcoming way to spend an evening. For us, a workshop is as much about the time spent making as it is about the finished piece: the conversations, the fun, and the satisfaction of having created something yourself.
Hues also plays a large part in campus celebrations. We design the décor for festivals such as Diwali, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Saraswati Puja, and we organise celebrations like Makar Sankranti, putting together backdrops and details that bring colour and warmth to these occasions. It is our way of adding to the shared spirit of campus life.
Beyond the events themselves, Hues offers a space to step away from the pace of campus life and simply create. We believe that creativity and management go well together, and that some of the best ideas begin with nothing more than a blank page and a little imagination.

Hues is the creative capital of IIM Calcutta. At Hues, we believe that creativity deserves just as much space as strategy and spreadsheets. As IIM Calcutta’s art and creativity club, our goal is simple: help students stay connected to their artistic side, no matter how hectic B-school life gets.
In the rush of deadlines, group projects, and endless to-do lists, it’s easy to lose touch with the fun, expressive part of ourselves. Hues is here to change that. From vibrant celebrations of festivals like Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Holi, and Makar Sankranti to regular art features and creative sessions, we bring color and energy back into campus life.
But we’re not just about paints and posters. We believe creativity can take many forms—and we’re always exploring new ones. Whether it's doodling, design, installations, or something completely experimental, Hues is a space to try, fail, grow, and express without limits.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We've teamed up with almost every other club on campus to add a creative twist to their events and bring ideas to life in ways that stand out. Because when business meets art, amazing things happen.
So, whether you're a seasoned artist or just someone who likes to sketch during lectures, Hues has something for you. We're not just a club—we're a community that celebrates imagination, expression, and the little joys of creating.
