IIM Calcutta is proud to present the Real Icons of Change lecture series on the 27th of September. Real Icons of Change is an inspirational lecture series of people with spectacular achievements, through high levels of personal endeavour, to reach out to the leaders of tomorrow. It is conceived and produced by Social Access Communications.

The speakers for the event are:

1. Lt Cdr Abhilash Tomy - First Indian, 2nd Asian and 79th in the world to circumnavigate the globe, solo, non-stop, unassisted and under sail.
Naval pilot Lt Cdr Abhilash travelled around the world alone, non - stop and without taking any assistance during his voyage. He started this historic journey on 1st Nov 2012 and returned after 5 months. This journey was true test of competence, bravery, resilience and will to conquer. It brought prestige to the nation. It was an important chapter to enrich the fine maritime traditions of India.

2. Arunima Sinha - First Indian amputee to climb Mount Everest.
The former national-level volleyball player, who lost a leg after being thrown off a moving train, climbed her way into history books by becoming the first Indian amputee to conquer Mount Everest. She climbed it on 1st April 2013, took 52 days to reach the summit.

3. Max Chandra - He is walking across the length and breadth of India to raise money for charity.
He is walking through every state of India, not simply as an individual challenge and journey, but so as to gain a personal insight and relationship with the underprivileged and vulnerable men, women and children that he encounters along the way.
