About TEDxIIMCalcutta
TEDxIIMCalcutta is an independently organised TEDx event and a student-led platform dedicated to bringing compelling ideas, inspiring individuals and meaningful conversations to the IIM Calcutta community. It creates a space where diverse perspectives come together and ideas move beyond discussion to encourage reflection, courage and action.
By bringing accomplished individuals and changemakers to campus, TEDxIIMCalcutta enables students to engage with experiences and viewpoints that extend beyond the classroom. Each talk is carefully developed to communicate one powerful idea in an accessible and memorable manner.
The Latest Edition
The latest edition of TEDxIIMCalcutta was held on 16 November at the IIM Calcutta Amphitheatre under the theme “Dream. Dare. Do.” The theme captured the journey from imagining new possibilities to finding the courage to pursue them and, ultimately, translating ideas into action.
The event featured seven speakers and welcomed an audience of approximately 100 participants. The speakers brought varied experiences and perspectives to the stage, creating an evening of storytelling, learning and thoughtful exchange. A notable highlight was the participation of Mitti Café, a widely recognised social-impact organisation whose journey represents inclusion, resilience and purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
Talks from the event were subsequently published online, allowing the ideas presented at IIM Calcutta to reach audiences beyond the campus.
Beyond the Stage
TEDxIIMCalcutta’s work extends well beyond the day of the event. Throughout the year, the team identifies promising ideas, curates speakers, supports the development of talks and manages the creative, promotional and operational efforts required to deliver the TEDx experience.
During the past year, the chapter published 23 social-media posts, including 15 reels, collectively generating a reach of over 20,000. These initiatives helped introduce speakers and ideas to the wider community while building anticipation and encouraging campus participation.
Our Vision
TEDxIIMCalcutta aspires to strengthen a culture of curiosity, open dialogue and courageous thinking at IIM Calcutta. Looking ahead, the chapter aims to discover more distinctive voices, deepen student participation and continue providing a platform where powerful ideas can inspire meaningful change—on campus and beyond.
