Our Mission

INCA, Initiatives for Community Activities, has been representing IIM Calcutta's social sector initiatives for decades, serving as a cornerstone of the college's commitment to social responsibility and inclusive development. Our primary objective is to bridge the gap between IIM Calcutta students and NGOs, fostering meaningful collaboration and sustainable social impact.

We recognise that business leaders of tomorrow must be equipped not only with technical acumen but also with a deep sense of social consciousness and civic responsibility. Through thoughtfully designed projects and events, we facilitate knowledge sharing, encourage social responsibility, and help students develop strong organisational and leadership skills.

INCA empowers students to become conscious leaders by connecting them with experienced practitioners in the social sector, providing hands-on project management experience, fostering stakeholder engagement, and building sustainable partnerships with NGOs and community organisations to ensure initiatives create lasting, measurable change.

Educational Initiatives

Children's education has consistently been a central focus of INCA's efforts. In 2025-26, INCA has worked with several leading organisations including OAR and Pranyas, both of which focus on educating underprivileged children and creating long-term developmental opportunities for them. As part of our commitment to inclusive education, we have undertaken several impactful initiatives.

Braille Scripts Donation: Recognising the challenges faced by visually challenged learners, INCA donated Braille scripts to a school for visually challenged children. This donation enables better access to learning resources and promotes inclusive education by ensuring that differently-abled students have equal opportunities to access quality educational materials.

Harmonium Donations: INCA donated harmoniums to partner schools, recognising the transformative power of music in building confidence, creativity, and self-expression among children. Music education plays a crucial role in holistic child development, fostering emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.

Health and Wellness Initiatives

Beyond educational initiatives, INCA has actively contributed to broader social causes, recognising that health and wellness are fundamental rights that impact community development and individual wellbeing.

Blood Donation Camp: INCA organised a blood donation camp to support critical healthcare needs and promote a culture of community responsibility among the student body. This initiative not only addresses the shortage of blood in medical facilities but also instills a sense of civic duty and empathy among students towards contributing to society's welfare.

Menstrual Health Awareness Programme: In collaboration with a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) school, INCA organised a comprehensive awareness programme aimed at educating young students about menstrual hygiene, breaking prevailing social taboos, and promoting informed and healthy practices. This initiative addresses a critical gap in health education and empowers young girls with knowledge that impacts their quality of life and educational attendance.

Women Empowerment

INCA recognises the critical importance of women empowerment in building an equitable and inclusive society. In line with this commitment, INCA conducted a flagship case competition in collaboration with Pranyas titled "Udaan", centred on Women Empowerment. The competition provided a platform for students to engage deeply with gender-related social challenges and contribute meaningful solutions.

Udaan Case Competition: This case competition encouraged participants to develop innovative, practical solutions addressing gender inequality and women's socio-economic challenges. By bringing together academic rigour with real-world social impact, Udaan fostered a culture of problem-solving among students and demonstrated the potential for business expertise to drive social change in women-centric initiatives.

Our Vision

INCA's vision extends beyond individual projects to creating a sustainable ecosystem of social change. We believe that meaningful social impact comes from collaboration, empathy, and a deep commitment to understanding the ground realities of the communities we serve. Through these diverse initiatives spanning education, health, and empowerment, INCA continues to bring together IIM Calcutta students, NGOs, and communities to work collectively towards a shared vision.

Our goal is to build a more inclusive, compassionate, and socially responsible society where every individual, regardless of their background or circumstance, has access to opportunities for growth, development, and dignified living. By fostering conscious leadership among our students and strengthening community partnerships, INCA aims to create sustainable, scalable solutions to the social challenges facing our communities today.

Our Team

INCA is led by a passionate team comprising the President, Vice President, Heads, and a dedicated Core Team. Together, they work towards creating impactful social initiatives and fostering community engagement at IIM Calcutta.
