7 Lakes Fest is the annual festival of IIM Calcutta, and this year marks its seventh edition. It brings together three long-standing traditions of the institute under one banner: Intaglio, the business summit, Carpe Diem, the cultural festival, and the 7 Lakes Run. Together, they represent close to three decades of student-led events at Joka.
Over three days, the fest hosts students from colleges across the country in case competitions, business simulations, quizzes, debates, music, dance, theatre, art, and sports, along with lighter events like treasure hunts, paintball, and gaming tournaments. The idea has always been simple: create a space where people can test their ideas against the best, discover talent outside the classroom, and enjoy some time on one of the country's most beautiful campuses. Since its first edition, 7LF has welcomed participants from over 200 institutions and has become a regular fixture on the B-school calendar.
What makes the fest distinctive is that it is built entirely by students. Months before the first participant arrives, teams across the campus are at work designing competitions, bringing partners on board, planning logistics, and curating the cultural line-up. Nearly every club and committee at IIM Calcutta has a hand in it, from the business clubs that frame the case challenges to the cultural clubs that fill the evenings. For those who organise it, 7LF is as much a lesson in execution and teamwork as anything taught in a classroom.
The 2025 edition witnessed Ankit Tiwari and Gaurav Kapoor perform on campus, alongside prom nights and a full line-up of competitions that kept the campus busy well into the night. For many who attended, it was as much about the people they met as the events they took part in.
For the seventh edition, the aim is to build on that: stronger competitions, a thoughtfully curated cultural line-up, and the same sense of community that has defined the fest from the start. Whether you're coming to compete, perform, or simply be part of it, you'll find a place here.

7 lakes fest is the international college fest combining the legacy of 28 years of Intaglio (business summit), Carpe diem (cultural fest), and 7 lakes run (sports). Spread over three days, 7 Lakes Fest is the most prominent college fest of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and one of the most eagerly awaited festivals on the calendar for all colleges across the country. It provides a platform for participants from some of India's most prestigious institutes to come together and showcase their talent in business skills, music, dance, quizzing, sports, creativity, theatre, and literary events.
In 2020, the inaugural year of 7 lakes fest, more than 60 events were conducted witnessing virtual participation of more than 20,000 participants from over 200 institutions across the business, cultural, and sports domain. The first edition of the fest garnered around 3 million views on D2C and social media channels.
In its second edition, with an aim to take forward the IIM Calcutta legacy and highlight Joka spirit of unity and support, 7 lakes fest is all set to scale new heights and break previous records.
