Who We Are
The Public Policy Club at IIM Calcutta is a student-led forum dedicated to understanding, analysing, and shaping the policies that govern economies, businesses, and societies. We believe that public policy is not confined to governments alone it; influences every sector, from finance and technology to healthcare, sustainability, international trade, and social development.
By fostering engagement with policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and civil society, the club bridges the gap between theory and practice, preparing students to contribute meaningfully to public discourse and institutional decision-making.

The Public Policy Club is the student-led public policy platform of IIM Calcutta. The mission and vision of the club is to inculcate a spirit of dialogue and promote learning and interest in the domains of public policy, politics and governance. We partner with a network of think tanks, NGOs, law firms, policy research centres, as well as policymakers and industry leaders, and provide members the opportunity to discuss and present actionable ideas to solve critical problems and make a tangible impact on society.
The Youth Shall Lead – our motto – reflects our firm belief in the importance of a well-informed youth and the need to incorporate innovation in social, public, industry and organizational leadership.
We organize a host of events and activities throughout the year to uphold and strengthen this spirit of youth leadership and publish course guidebooks, gazettes and newsletters. Our annual flagship event is the National Policy Hackathon, which began as the Bengal Policy Hackathon, where students from institutes across India as well as working professionals participate and present their solutions.
