Call for Papers IIM Calcutta Finance Research Conference (IIMCFRC) 2026

About the Conference

The Financial Research & Trading Laboratory (FRTL) at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) invites submissions for the IIM Calcutta Finance Research Conference (IIMCFRC) 2026, to be held in person on the IIM Calcutta campus, Kolkata, India, from December 12–14, 2026. The conference will be conducted in offline mode only, with no virtual or hybrid option for participation.

Building on the success of its inaugural 2025 edition, IIMCFRC 2026 will bring together researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge research in finance and accounting. The conference offers a platform for sharing new ideas, fostering collaborations, and engaging in meaningful discussion on issues that matter for both policy and practice — and allows early-career researchers to present their work and receive feedback from leading scholars in the field.

Established in 2008, FRTL is a Centre of Excellence at IIM Calcutta dedicated to advancing research, teaching, and training in finance and accounting through access to financial market data, analytical tools, and state-of-the-art research infrastructure.

The conference committee welcomes original, unpublished research across all areas of finance and accounting, including but not limited to:

• Asset pricing and market microstructure
• Corporate finance, governance, and disclosure
• Banking, financial intermediation, and systemic risk
• Behavioural finance and household finance
• Corporate and financial accounting, auditing, and regulation
• FinTech, cryptocurrencies, and digital finance
• Risk management, derivatives, and portfolio choice
• Macroeconomic-finance linkages and financial stability
• Sustainability and Climate finance

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit full papers through the conference submission portal:
application.iimcal.ac.in/conference-paper-submission-iimcfrc-2026. Each paper will be subject to peer review by the conference scientific committee, and only accepted papers will be scheduled for presentation. Some selected papers will be assigned a discussant for detailed feedback.

Job Market Track

A dedicated Job Market Paper presentation track is scheduled for December 13, 2026. This session provides an opportunity for graduating PhD students, currently seeking employment, to formally present their research to a panel of distinguished experts. Students who intend to submit their work for this track must clearly indicate "JOB MARKET" at the top of their paper to facilitate the identification and review of these submissions.

Best Paper Awards

The conference will recognise outstanding research through the following best paper with cash award:

• ₹50,000 for the best paper
• ₹30,000 for the first runner-up
• ₹20,000 for the second runner-up

Limited accommodation is available on the IIM Calcutta campus at the Management Development Centre (MDC), on a first-come-first-served basis (approx. INR 5,040 per night, single occupancy, including GST). Hotel options near the campus are also listed on the conference webpage.
