Dean’s Message

It’s a great pleasure to mention Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has been recognized as a member of CEMS in the recent past and is presently the only institute in India that has been blessed with this recognition. The internationally reputed organization CEMS is a global alliance that includes twenty nine leading business schools and universities from five different continents dedicated to making future global business leaders through its CEMS Master’s in International Management (MIM) program. The uniqueness of CEMS MIM program lies in its multilingual and multicultural learning environments in association with close interactions with the corporate world.

Founded in 1988, CEMS has grown from its Pan-European beginning to a truly global organization. The global citizenship promotion efforts of CEMS and its pursuit of excellence have been duly recognized and reflected in the consistent rank of CEMS MIM among the top ten programs in the world in the FT Global Master's in Management ranking since its inception in 2005.

The CEMS MIM program offers an exciting opportunity to students of IIM Calcutta to spend time overseas and in the process augment and complement their academic pursuit at IIM Calcutta through learning and experience from reputed CEMS member institutions and their corporate partners. The program inherently paves ways for networking opportunities among peers and corporate executives spanning over international boundaries. Students get exposed to dimensions of language, culture, demography, and environment relating to professional management in an international context.

The students of MIM program from CEMS member schools visiting IIM Calcutta get the added opportunity of experiencing the Indian academic and business environments from close corners. The management challenges in India, one of the fastest growing economies in the world, are often unique because of its huge population that exceeds a billion. The functioning of democracy in such a context is itself an eye-opener. The socio-cultural diversity of the country is an added attraction to young minds keen to appreciate the nuances of global citizenship.

Nestled within 130 acres of greenery and water bodies at the outskirt of Kolkata, the learning environment at IIM Calcutta strives to promote curricular and extra-curricular activities, team work, and lifelong networking and bonding among friends and colleagues.

It’s my pleasure to welcome all CEMS MIM program aspirants from home and abroad to experience the wonderful opportunities at IIM Calcutta.
