IIM Calcutta Officially Welcomes the PGDBA Batch of 2025-2027. The campus is buzzing with fresh energy and renewed aspirations!
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of PGDBA Batch-11 Admissions, Orientation and Formal Inauguration ceremony. The week kicked off with a seamless registration process, where our future data leaders officially became a part of the IIM Calcutta community.
On July 11, 2025, Honourable Members of the PGDBA Tri-institute Governing Body, i.e. Prof. Saibal Chattopadhyay (Director-in-charge, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay (Director, ISI), Prof. Rintu Banerjee (Deputy Director, IIT Kharagpur), Prof. Bhaskar Chakrabarti (Dean-Academic Programmes, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Biswabrata Pradhan (Dean, ISI), Prof. Dibakar Ghosh (PGDBA Coordinator & Associate Dean, ISI), Prof. Sangeeta Sahney (PGDBA Coordinator & Dean-VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur) graced the Freshers’ Welcome event. The august presence of Prof. Samit Paul (Former Chairperson and Committee Member, PGDBA Programme, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Ram Babu Roy (Faculty Advisor, PGDBA Programme, IIT Kharagpur), Prof. Saini Das (Faculty Advisor, PGDBA Programme, IIT Kharagpur) added inspiration to the students for pursuing excellence, embracing challenge, and embarking on their academic journey with passion and curiosity. Prof. Sudhir S. Jaiswall (Chairperson, PGDBA Programme, IIM Calcutta) extended sincere congratulations and a warm welcome to the new batch in his concluding remarks, with a vote of thanks to all contributors in this activity.
A comprehensive multi-day orientation programme was designed to ease their transition into the Joka life. We were joined by Prof. Nisigandha Bhuyan (Coordinator, Management Centre for Human Values, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Sudarshan Kumar (Chairperson, Students' Affairs Committee, IIM Calcutta), Dr. Narayan Chandra Ghosh (Librarian, IIM Calcutta), Mr. Debapratim Das (Innovation Park, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Apoorva Bharadwaj (Convenor, Anti-Ragging Committee, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Chetan Joshi (Faculty Member, Organizational Behaviour, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Sourav Bhattacharya (Faculty Member, Economics, IIM Calcutta), Prof. Nandita Roy (Chairperson, Internal Complaints Committee, IIM Calcutta). The sessions provided valuable insights to students into our academic culture, institute resources, student activities, and the core values that define us.
